Rice dishes are an excellent choice.They’re simple to prepare and may be served warm or cold.

And there are so many different types of rice dishes!

The spicy coconut curry sauce is ideal for feeding a crowd, and the jasmine rice adds just enough flavor without overpowering the delicate shrimp.

I’ve also cooked this recipe using halibut instead of shrimp, and it’s fantastic.

Add additional chopped onions and cilantro before serving to make it even better!

2. Shrimp Fried Rice

This recipe is simple to prepare and a terrific way to use up leftovers.

I prefer to start by heating my rice in the microwave before adding cooked shrimp and vegetables.

I generally add frozen peas at the end, but you may use whatever you have on hand.Broccoli, carrots, and peppers are all good options!

To spice things up, I like to add some coconut milk and chili sauce for a spicy kick.

You may also add some garlic or onion powder for added taste if desired.

Finally, if you want your fried rice crispy rather than mushy (as most people do), try frying it in a skillet on medium heat for approximately 5 minutes before adding any additional ingredients.

3. Garlic Parmesan Rice

This is one of my favorite rice meals and goes well with grilled shrimp.

I prefer to prepare the rice in my rice cooker and then finish it with the garlic, cheese, and butter.

You won’t have to worry about burning your butter while stirring the rice this way.

Personally, I prefer to add shredded chicken or ham to this dish to make it a more full dinner.

4. Lemon Rice

This recipe was taught to me by my mother, and I’ve been making it for years.

The rice is tasty and excellent because it is cooked in a combination of lemon juice, salt, and water.

It complements grilled shrimp beautifully, but it also works well with other seafood or meat meals.

I like to finish with a drizzle of olive oil to make the meal even more rich and wonderful.

Alternatively, if you want to prepare more than one batch of rice for supper, consider adding some fresh herbs to one batch and letting it rest for an hour before servingit will provide an additional layer of flavor!

5. Rice Pilaf

  1. To begin, I sauté shallots, garlic, and ginger in olive oil.
  2. Then I add some fresh spinach and sliced mushrooms.
  3. After that, just add the rice, broth, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. When the rice is tender, approximately 20 minutes total, the pilaf is ready.

For more taste and color, I like to add a bunch of fresh herbs to my pilafs, mainly basil or cilantro!

This meal is particularly ideal for entertaining since it can be made ahead of time and then simply reheated when ready to serve!

Tip: I prefer to use basmati rice in my pilafs since it has a beautiful texture and taste that complements a variety of meats and veggies.

However, if you prefer jasmine or another kind of rice (or if you don’t have any basmati), feel free to substitute!

6. Spicy Turmeric Rice

When I’m making Spicy Turmeric Rice, I prefer to pair it with grilled shrimp.

They go together perfectly!

  1. The rice must be cooked first.Simply bring some water to a boil and add the rice until it is tender.
  2. Drain any extra water and let the rice to cool slightly before adding the turmeric, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
  3. Combine everything until it’s equally blended, then add your herbs of choice (I prefer parsley and cilantro).
  4. Then comes my unique twist: instead of white rice, use whole-grain brown rice!It has more fiber and minerals, so you will feel filled for longer, yet it tastes exactly like conventional white rice!

Finally, one of my favorite culinary tips: when combining spices into rice, use a fork rather than a spoon or spatula for greater coverage and less waste!

7. Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice

Recipefairy.com’s Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice is one of my favorites.

The directions are straightforward, and you may use it as a foundation for a variety of recipes.

Its especially good with grilled shrimp!

I add veggies like bell peppers and onions to the rice before baking it because they bring a lot of flavor and color to the meal.

They also assist in ensuring that everyone gets their vegetables!

When cooking rice, make sure it’s not too firm or soft; you want it to be just perfect so there are no crunchy or mushy bits when you bite into it.

8. Mexican Rice

I prepare Mexican rice the way my mother taught me: in a pressure cooker on the stovetop, using chicken broth instead of water!

My mother normally adds tomato paste and chili powder to her Mexican rice, but I don’t always have those things on hand, so I simply add some hot sauce or an additional teaspoon of cumin instead.

However, if you are feeling daring and have the time, you should certainly attempt this recipe!

If you make your own stock (which I strongly suggest), allow it to boil for at least six hours before using it in any recipe that asks for chicken broth or stock.

This will ensure that all of the ingredients are well-blended and that your meal has a greater depth of flavor overall!

9. Brown Rice Apple Salad

This Brown Rice Apple Salad dish is one of my favorites since it’s quick and versatile.

It’s a great basis for a variety of recipes, but I really enjoy it with grilled shrimp.

Let me tell you how I cook this rice dish

  1. 2 cups water per cup of rice until the water is absorbed, then reduce to low heat and simmer for another 30 minutes or so.I use short-grain brown rice (I like the texture) and cook it on the stovetop for approximately 1 12 hours.
  2. Then I drizzle a little olive oil over the top and toss until all of the grains are covered, then serve!

Now, some personal twists on this dish:

  • If you want to add extra flavor, cook using fresh herbs such as basil or cilantro.
  • Try adding dried cranberries or raisins, as well as pine nuts or sunflower seeds, for a sweet and salty combination!
  • Finally, if serving this meal with grilled fish or poultry, add some balsamic vinegar towards the end for added sweetness!

10. Mushroom Risotto

Mushroom risotto is one of my favorite dishes to serve with grilled shrimp.

Its easy to make and tastes amazing!

Heres how I do it:

  1. To begin, heat some olive oil and sauté some chopped mushrooms. When the mushrooms have browned, add some white wine (I prefer to use a Sauvignon Blanc) and reduce it by half.
  2. Add in some garlic and shallots, as well as enough chicken broth or vegetable stock to cover the veggies by an inch or two. Allow this to simmer for approximately 20 minutes, or until it has been reduced by half and tastes rich and tasty!
  3. Now whisk in your cooked rice (I generally use a short grain type like Arborio or Sushi rice), thyme leaves (or maybe even rosemary if you’re feeling brave), and thyme leaves (or maybe even rosemary if you’re feeling bold) until everything is uniformly covered in sauce before serving warm with grilled shrimp!

11. Coconut Rice

This rice dish is one of my favorites since it’s creamy and flavorful without being too heavy.

It works well with grilled shrimp, particularly if you want something different than your typical side of potatoes or rice.

What I like to do differently is to add more veggies.Broccoli and carrots are my regular vegetables, but bell peppers would also be tasty!

If you wish to make this a dairy-free recipe, replace the coconut milk with anything else (such as coconut water).

Finally, I believe one of the nicest aspects of this meal is its simplicity.

It’s ideal for times when you don’t have much time but yet want to feel like you’ve prepared something nice for supper.

12. Broccoli and Cheese Rice

As much as I like the crisp, zesty flavor of grilled shrimp, it may be a bit much for me at times.

And when it is, I prefer to pair it with something soft, creamy, and rich to suit its taste and texture.

Thats why I love this dish.

This dish is not only simple to prepare, but it is also tasty!

Simply cook the rice in milk instead of water, then add some cheddar cheese towards the end.

You’ll never want to eat plain white rice again since it’s so creamy and tasty!

There are two additional benefits to this recipe:

  • You don’t have to cook the broccoli beforehand (but if you want more flavor from your vegetables, go ahead!).
  • It serves four people, so you can simply take leftovers for lunch the next day or split them with your friends!

13. Cilantro Lime Rice

As a side dish for grilled shrimp, I really like making cilantro lime rice!

  1. I begin by sautéing a little amount of onion, garlic, and bell pepper in olive oil.
  2. Then I add my rice and toss it around until it’s toasty.
  3. I add lime juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. When the rice is nearly done, I add some cilantro leaves and remove it from the heat.

I serve my cilantro lime rice with grilled shrimp because it adds a fresh taste that complements the smokey grilled shrimp.

However, you may use this recipe with any grilled meat or fish that you choose!

14. Curried Rice

I like curried rice. It’s one of my go-to meals when I need a fast, nutritious supper that uses materials I already have on hand.

Heres how I make it:

  1. I begin by sautéing onions in olive oil until tender and transparent.
  2. After that, I add some chopped carrots and boil them till soft.
  3. Season with pepper to taste.After that, I add rice, water, curry powder, and salt to the saucepan.
  4. After bringing the mixture to a boil, I drop the heat to low and cover the pot for about 15 minutes (or until all of the water has been absorbed).When finished, the rice should be fluffy!
  5. Finally, once the rice has finished cooking (and you’ve added your favorite toppings like raisins or almonds), garnish with fresh parsley before serving!

15. Asian Shrimp Rice Bowls

I like a nice rice bowl, and I believe they pair especially well with grilled shrimp.

Heres how I cook it:

  1. Begin by cooking the rice according per package directions. I used Uncle Bens Ready Rice 3 Minute White Rice for this recipe.
  2. While the rice cooks, sauté the garlic and onion in a little amount of vegetable oil until tender and translucent.
  3. Cook until the mushrooms have softened and released their juice, then add the shrimp and stir until they are pink and cooked through.
  4. Optional garnishes include pepper, green onions, and cilantro leaves.When the rice is done (and rinsed), add the vegetables and shrimp combination, as well as the soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt.
  5. Serve hot over individual bowls of brown rice!

You may also experiment with other veggies or spices to see what you like best!

This meal is fantastic since it is so adaptable; I’ve even prepared it using chicken instead of shrimp in the past.

16. Authentic Chinese Shrimp Fried Rice

I like making shrimp fried rice, and I believe it is an excellent accompaniment to grilled shrimp.

  1. In a wok or big pan, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.
  2. When the oil is heated, add the garlic and ginger and sauté for 30 seconds, or until they smell fantastic.
  3. Then add the rice and simmer for approximately 2 minutes, or until it begins to brown (careful not to burn it).
  4. Mix in the soy sauce and sesame oil before adding the shrimp and spices.
  5. Cook until shrimp are done, then remove from heat, toss in onions and cilantro, and serve warm!

There are several ways to personalize this meal.

If you want some protein with your carbohydrates, add an egg or tofu.

You may also use a variety of vegetables.For color, I prefer to add shredded carrots or red peppers! Add some saffron for an exotic taste if you’re feeling fancy!

17. Garlic Shrimp Fried Rice

Garlic shrimp fried rice is another of my favorite side dishes to serve with grilled shrimp.

I like to add a little chili paste and fresh cilantro to the mix for a little kick!

I also like to add some chopped avocado and fried eggs to make it more substantial, but you can omit those if you want a lighter supper.
